Stop using images of animals in holiday advertisements
We, the undersigned citizens of the United Nations and concerned members of global community, urgently call to enact legislation that prohibits the use of images or videos featuring working animals in holiday advertisements promoting holiday tours in developing countries.
This petition seeks to address and mitigate the exploitation and mistreatment of animals in the tourism sector, specifically targeting the advertising practices that glorify and promote animal rides and other activities involving working animals in exotic locations, such as the pyramids of Giza.
- Legislation: Enact a law that bans the use of images or videos of animals in holiday advertisements by travel companies. This law should apply to all forms of advertising, including online platforms, print media, and broadcast media.
- Penalties: Establish strict penalties for companies that violate this law, including substantial fines and potential suspension of operating licenses.
- Support for Ethical Tourism: Encourage the development and promotion of ethical tourism alternatives that do not exploit animals, providing support and incentives for businesses that adopt and implement sustainable practices.
The time has come for the lawmakers to take a stand against the exploitation of working animals in the tourism industry. By banning the use of their images in holiday advertisements, we can make a significant impact on reducing demand for unethical animal attractions and promote a more ethical and sustainable tourism sector. We urge the United Nations delegates to support this petition and propose legislation that reflects our shared values of compassion, respect, and responsibility towards all living beings on our planet Earth.
